Taper-Lok® has an outstanding record in both offshore
and Subsea applications.
Taper-Lok® connections provide unequaled design
flexibility and are available in nominal pipe sizes ranging
from ½” to 82”, with pressures to 40,000
psi, and temperatures ranging from –350 F to 1,600
F.
Reasons for using a Taper-Lok® flange connection
in an Offshore or Subsea application include:
- 100% leak-free sealing technology backed by over
350 million hours of documented service history.
- Taper-Lok® connections are 60% to 70% lighter
than the conventional flange counterpart in most sizes
and pressure ratings.
- Taper-Lok® standard connections can accept 10
to 20 degrees of misalignment.
- Axial misalignment allows for a shorter assembly
time of manifolds, risers, and spools saving both money
and delivery time.
- Taper-Lok® connections are
designed to use standard bolt tensioners and have very
low pre-stresses.
- The Taper-Lok® compact design reduces space and
weight on manifolds and SSIV/ESDV assemblies.
- The seal ring geometry allows the gasket to be
pre-installed on one side of the flange before deployment.
- Taper-Lok® flanges are designed for external,
dynamic, and fatigue loads.
- Modifications for external, annulus pressure
testing available.
- Taper-Lok® connections are used in Injection Systems,
Flow Lines, Well Stream Manifolds, Well Heads, Pipeline
Transmission/Distribution, Petroleum Refining, Synthetic
Fuels Production, Onshore, Offshore and Subsea applications.
